Perfume price per ml across the FAAN range: what 200 ml really costs

Prices today, per ml

All fourteen bottles are 200 ml, so the maths is the price divided by 200.

For scale, a 100 ml bottle at the same price per bottle would cost twice as much per ml, and a 50 ml bottle four times as much. A 200 ml size is the reason the per-ml figure is low. Shipping is extra: €6.35 in the Netherlands under €75, free from €75, and never free elsewhere.

Extrait versus Eau de Parfum

An Extrait holds more fragrance oil than an Eau de Parfum, so in a normal market you would expect it to cost more per ml. In this range most of them cost less: Amjad Honour is €44.99 and Qasida Signature is €54.99, about 22 percent more for a lower concentration and a lower longevity rating (4 against 5). The exceptions are Amjad Kingdom and Amjad Mystery, the two Extraits at €54.99, so they cost as much as Qasida Signature. We do not explain how each price is set, so use the figures, not the label. Cost per spray and per wear

Pumps vary, so this is an estimate. If one spray is about 0.1 ml, a 200 ml bottle holds around 2,000 sprays. Then:

• A €44.99 Extrait costs about 2.25 cents per spray. Two sprays is about 4.5 cents a day.
• A €54.99 Eau de Parfum costs about 2.75 cents per spray. Three sprays is about 8.3 cents a day.
• A €56.99 bottle costs about 2.85 cents per spray.

At two sprays a day, a €44.99 bottle would last on the order of a thousand days, nearly three years. The price per wear is small, which is why choosing a scent you like matters more than shaving a few euros.
