Do you pay customs or extra fees on perfume ordered within the EU?

We are an independent retailer of FAAN fragrances, run by FragranceGems B.V. in Zoetermeer, the Netherlands. This is general information, not tax advice, and the rules for special territories are explained below. For a bottle such as Amjad Honour, the price on the page is the price of the bottle, and the shipping is added at checkout.

Inside the EU: no customs

Customs duties apply when goods enter the EU from outside it. A parcel that moves from one EU country to another, from the Netherlands to Germany or from the Netherlands to Spain, does not cross that border, so no customs declaration or duty applies. That is why there is no customs form on your order.

We deliver to Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

VAT in the price

Product prices on our pages include VAT. The page says "Including VAT. Shipping is calculated at checkout." The VAT is part of the price you see, and you do not pay it again on delivery. Prices run from €44.99 for Amjad Coral and Honour to €56.99 for the top of the range. We cannot give tax advice, but the principle is simple: the checkout total is the amount you pay for the order.

Outside the EU: not served at the moment

We deliver only to the countries listed above. If your country cannot be selected at checkout, we cannot deliver there yet. That includes countries outside the EU, where customs duties and import VAT would apply and where different carrier rules for perfume exist. We would rather say so than let you order something we cannot send.

A small caution for special territories. A few islands and regions that belong to EU countries sit outside the EU's VAT and customs area, such as the Canary Islands or the Åland Islands. Our shipping list works by country. If your address is in one of these places, email us before you order and we will tell you whether we can deliver and what applies.

What the price at checkout includes

At checkout you see the products, VAT, and the shipping method you chose with its price. The amounts shown at checkout when you order are the ones that apply. There is no hidden customs fee. Shipping is free only in the Netherlands from €75. Everywhere else you pay the rate for your country, for example €7.79 to Germany with GLS, or €17.50 to Romania. If a carrier asks for payment

Inside the EU, nobody should ask you to pay customs on delivery. If a driver, a text message or an email asks you to pay a fee, stop and check:

1. Look at your dispatch confirmation email and the carrier's own website or app, typed in by you, not through a link in a message.
2. Do not click payment links in unexpected texts about a parcel. They are a common scam.
3. Email us with your order number and what was asked. We will help.

FAQ

Do I pay import duty on a perfume ordered within the EU?

No. Goods moving between EU countries carry no customs duty.

Is VAT included in the price?

Yes. Product prices include VAT, and shipping is added at checkout.

Can you deliver to the UK, Norway or Switzerland?

Not at the moment. If your country cannot be selected at checkout, we cannot deliver there.
