Returns and refunds for perfume orders: what to know before you buy

This is a plain-language summary of our refund policy and the shipping and returns page. If anything here differs from those, those texts apply. Faan Perfumes is an independent retailer of FAAN fragrances, and every bottle is 200 ml.

The short version

Your right to withdraw in the EU

Under EU consumer rules you can change your mind about an online purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason. The 14 days start on the day after the order arrives. If one order comes in several parcels, the period runs from the day after the last parcel. To keep the deadline, it is enough to send your notice before the 14 days are over.

If you have not shipped yet, you can also cancel before dispatch: email us at once with your order number. Once it is with the carrier, use the right to withdraw instead.

Condition of the bottle

Perfume is applied to the skin, so there is one important exception. The bottle must be sealed. Opening the outer shipping box does not count as breaking the seal. Removing or breaking the protective seal does, and from that moment the right to withdraw ends, because we cannot offer the bottle to anyone else.

You may handle and inspect a product like you would in a shop. If you handle it more than that, we may deduct the loss in value from the refund. Do not spray a bottle you are not sure about. If you are only curious about the scent, which FAAN perfume to choose helps you decide before you open anything. Two bottles people often ask about are Qasida Signature and Amjad Honour.

How to start a return

1. Email info@faanperfumes.eu, or use the contact page, and say you want to withdraw. Add your order number.
2. Send the sealed bottle back without undue delay, and in any case within 14 days of telling us. The return address is in our refund policy, and we also give it on request.
3. Use a tracked service and keep the proof of posting.

You pay the direct cost of sending it back. If the bottle arrives damaged or defective, or is not the one you ordered, contact us first with photos of the bottle and packaging. In that case we pay the return postage and arrange a solution at no cost to you.

Refund timing

We refund all payments received for the returned bottle, including the standard delivery cost of the original order, no later than 14 days after we are informed of your withdrawal. We may wait until the bottle is back with us, or until you show proof that you sent it, whichever comes first. The money goes back by the same means of payment you used. Extra delivery cost you chose for a faster or pricier option than our standard one is not refunded.

FAQ

Can I return a bottle I have opened?

If you broke the seal after delivery, the right to withdraw has ended. Damaged or wrong deliveries are a separate matter, and you can contact us.

Who pays for the return?

You do, unless the bottle is defective or we sent the wrong one.

What if it shows as sold out when I want to exchange?
