FAAN Amjad perfumes: the five Extraits explained

Amjad means glory or honour. The Amjad line from FAAN has five perfumes, all in 200 ml. This is the darker and deeper side of the brand: frankincense, saffron, amber, ambergris, oud and resin. It is the heavier of the two lines.
We are an independent retailer of FAAN fragrances. Below you find the notes from each product page, plain descriptions and a few honest tips on who each bottle suits.
What sets Amjad apart
All five are listed as Extrait de Parfum. That is the most concentrated type of perfume. It means more fragrance oil and less alcohol, so the scent sits closer, lasts longer and needs fewer sprays. Two sprays on a shirt will do on most days.
All five are unisex. Honour, Kingdom and Mystery lean toward autumn and winter. Amjad Coral is the exception: it is bright and made for warm weather.
The five bottles
Amjad Honour
FAAN Amjad Honour is the one people search for most, sometimes spelled Honor. It opens with frankincense, elemi, cardamom, lemon and Sichuan pepper. The heart holds patchouli, rose, saffron, orange blossom and geranium. The base is vanilla, amber, oud, ambergris and benzoin. It is resinous, spicy and long lasting. We rate its longevity 5 out of 5. Our Amjad Honour review goes deeper.
Amjad Kingdom
FAAN Amjad Kingdom opens with ambrette, elemi, vetiver and hibiscus. Styrax, violet, amber and benzoin sit in the middle. Labdanum, ambergris, musk and amber finish it. The violet gives the amber a cool, powdery edge. Longevity is 5 out of 5.
Amjad Mystery
FAAN Amjad Mystery starts with pear, hazelnut and frankincense. Rose, saffron, sambac jasmine and osmanthus form the heart. Sandalwood, vanilla, ambergris and akigalawood make the base. The hazelnut and smoky rose make it the most unusual of the five. A good one for date nights.
Amjad Coral
FAAN Amjad Coral is the bright bottle. Pear, bergamot, mandarin and ginger at the top. Orange blossom and georgywood in the heart. Ambrofix, musk, akigalawood and cedar underneath. Clean, fresh, woody and easy. It is the one to buy if you think Amjad is too heavy for you.
Amjad Status
FAAN Amjad Status is the black bottle with gold lines. We do not list a note pyramid for it yet because we cannot verify one. We only show notes we can confirm.
The materials you will smell
A few words keep coming back in the Amjad notes. Here is what they mean in plain terms.
- Frankincense and elemi: resins with a lemony, peppery, church-like smoke. They open Honour, Kingdom and Mystery.
- Saffron: warm, leathery, a little metallic. It gives Honour and Mystery their spice.
- Amber, benzoin and labdanum: sweet, sticky resins. They are the warm floor under almost every bottle in the line.
- Ambergris: a salty, skin-like, slightly sweet note. It makes a scent smell expensive and calm.
- Oud: dark, woody, a little medicinal. In Honour it sits low and gives weight rather than shouting.
Season and moment
Honour, Kingdom and Mystery are made for autumn and winter evenings, special occasions and date nights. Cold air keeps heavy resins tidy. In summer heat they can feel thick, so use one spray instead of three.
Coral is the opposite. It is listed for spring and summer, daily wear and the office. Pear and mandarin lift it, and cedar and musk stop it from being too sweet.
How much to spray
With Extrait, start with two sprays. One on the chest or the base of the neck, one on the clothes. Wait ten minutes before you add more. The top notes are loud at first and then relax. People often spray twice as much as they need because they judge the scent in the first minute.
Amjad next to Qasida
People often ask whether to begin with Amjad or Qasida. The short answer: begin with Qasida if you are new to Arabic-style perfume, and with Amjad if you already know you like resin and amber. Qasida has more fresh and fruity options. Amjad has one, which is Coral. For a full tour of the other line, read the Qasida guide.
Both lines share one thing: a 200 ml bottle. That is a big flask by European standards. A bottle this size lasts a year or more for most people, so it pays to choose with care. Smell notes, read the pyramid, and think about the weather you will wear it in.
How to choose inside the line
- You want depth and a lot of presence: Honour or Kingdom.
- You want something sweet and a little strange: Mystery.
- You want a fresh daily scent: Coral.
- You like the look of the black bottle: Status.
