Best FAAN perfumes for autumn and winter

Cold air changes how perfume behaves. Sweet and resinous notes stay close and warm, while fresh notes fade quickly. That is why the FAAN range looks so good from October to March. Most of the bottles were built for the cold.
Below are the FAAN perfumes we would reach for in autumn and winter, grouped by mood. All notes come from the product pages. We are an independent retailer of FAAN fragrances.
What to look for in cold weather
Three things make a perfume work in winter. Warm base notes, like amber, vanilla and wood. A little spice, like cinnamon or pepper, to cut through scarves. And enough staying power, because you reapply less often in a coat.
In the FAAN range, those are the bottles listed for autumn and winter on the product pages. There are many of them.
Sweet and cosy
Qasida Signature
FAAN Qasida Signature is the first one most people reach for. Praline, vanilla, almond and cinnamon sit on dry amber. It is sweet without being sticky. Longevity is 4 out of 5.
Qasida Queen
FAAN Qasida Queen is darker. Cherry, clove and orange blossom lead to vanilla, amber, patchouli and coffee. It is written for her and listed for date nights.
Smoky and dry
Qasida Bakhour
FAAN Qasida Bakhour pairs saffron and clove with incense, rose and violet. Sandalwood, leather and vanilla in the base. Rich and calm.
Qasida Dunes
FAAN Qasida Dunes is the pepper and leather option. Olibanum, black pepper, cypriol and patchouli lead to sandalwood and labdanum. Use two sprays and wear it with wool.
Qasida Bidaya
FAAN Qasida Bidaya is an Extrait with saffron, cardamom, opoponax, vanilla bean and benzoin. It smells like a warm spice box and holds on well.
Deep and resinous
Amjad Honour
FAAN Amjad Honour has frankincense, saffron, rose, oud and amber. It is the heavy hitter of the range, with a longevity rating of 5 out of 5. See our Honour guide.
Amjad Kingdom
FAAN Amjad Kingdom mixes violet and styrax with labdanum, ambergris and amber. Cool, powdery, then warm.
Amjad Mystery
FAAN Amjad Mystery has hazelnut, pear, rose, saffron and sandalwood. The smoky rose and the nut make it unusual.
The all-rounder
FAAN Qasida Al-Badr is dry and powdery and works from autumn through spring. If you wear perfume to the office in winter, it is the easiest choice. Qasida Sahm is for him and is listed for autumn and spring: fruity at first and dark by the end.
How to wear heavy perfume in winter
- Spray on clothes as well as skin. Scarf, collar and the inside of a coat hold scent for days.
- Keep it to two sprays. Cold air does not dilute a scent the way heat does, but heavy base notes build up indoors.
- Store the bottle in a cool room, not next to a radiator.

Not sure which one?
If you want one bottle for the whole winter, pick Signature if you like sweet and Honour if you like smoke. If you are choosing between several, read which FAAN perfume to choose. Both full lines are in the Qasida and Amjad collections.
A small winter wardrobe
You do not need ten bottles. Two are enough for most people. One daily scent that is quiet enough for work, such as Al-Badr. One evening scent with presence, such as Signature, Bakhour or Honour. Switch between them depending on the plan.
If you wear perfume every day, a 200 ml bottle will last a long time, so choose something you will not get tired of. Dry and woody scents tend to wear well over months. Very sweet ones can get cloying. If you are unsure, start with something in the middle, like Signature, which is sweet but balanced with spice and wood.
Day and night
- Day, indoors: Al-Badr, one to two sprays.
- Day, outdoors: Sahm, Signature.
- Evening: Bakhour, Queen, Dunes, Honour.
- Late night: Kingdom, Mystery.
Indoors and outdoors
In winter you move between cold streets and warm rooms. A scent that feels perfect outside can turn heavy in a heated office. If you spend most of your day indoors, pick the softer bottles, such as Al-Badr, or use one spray instead of two. Save the big Extraits for evenings and weekends, when you can enjoy them in cold air.
If you want the fresh side of the range, look at Amjad Coral.
