Perfume delivery to Germany: GLS, DHL and pickup points compared

Quick answer: Perfume delivery to Germany takes 5 to 8 working days in total, 2 to 3 for processing and 3 to 5 for transport. You choose between four options: GLS / FedEx home delivery at €7.79, a GLS pickup point at €7.80, or DHL home delivery or a DHL pickup point at €11.99. Free shipping applies in the Netherlands only.
Delivery time: 5 to 8 working days
Orders to Germany are processed in 2 to 3 working days and then travel for 3 to 5 working days. In total that is 5 to 8 working days. Pickup-point delivery can take a little longer than home delivery. These are estimates for normal circumstances, and public holidays or busy periods can add time. If you order a gift, add a few days of margin.
GLS or DHL: price and difference
| Option | Price |
|---|---|
| Standard GLS / FedEx home delivery | €7.79 |
| Service point delivery, GLS | €7.80 |
| DHL Germany home delivery | €11.99 |
| Service point delivery, DHL Germany | €11.99 |
GLS is the cheaper pair, and DHL costs €4.20 more than GLS home delivery. We do not claim that DHL is faster. Choose it if you trust DHL or have a DHL point close by. Choose GLS if you want the lowest price. The exact options for your address appear at checkout before you pay, because perfume contains alcohol and carriers treat it as a flammable liquid, so some options are not available everywhere.
A single bottle shows what this means in practice. Amjad Honour at €44.99 with GLS home delivery costs €52.78 delivered, and with DHL €56.98. Amjad Coral at the same price comes to the same totals. Qasida Signature at €54.99 comes to €62.78 with GLS.
Pickup points
A pickup point is a shop or parcel locker where the carrier leaves your parcel and you collect it yourself. It is useful if nobody is home in the daytime. The GLS point costs a cent more than GLS home delivery (€7.80 against €7.79), so price should not decide it. The DHL point costs as much as DHL home delivery. Pickup delivery can be slower.
Which option for whom
- Lowest price: GLS home delivery at €7.79, or the GLS pickup point at €7.80.
- Nobody home in the daytime: a pickup point, with GLS or DHL.
- A DHL point right around the corner: DHL at €11.99.
- A gift with a date: pick any option and order early, because the options differ in price, not in the promised 5 to 8 working days.

Tracking and delivery attempts
Once your parcel is handed over, look in the dispatch email for a tracking link, which the carrier provides where it can. No link, or a tracker that stays still? Write to info@faanperfumes.eu and give your order number. The carrier decides how many delivery attempts it makes, so the tracker is the place to see what comes next.
Returns from Germany
You have 14 days from receiving the order to withdraw, with no reason needed. The bottle must be sealed, because perfume is applied to the skin. Email us with your order number, then send the bottle back within 14 days to FragranceGems B.V. in Zoetermeer, the Netherlands. The cost of the return is yours, unless the bottle is defective or we sent the wrong one. Use a tracked service and keep the proof. We refund the standard shipping of the original order. The full rules are on the shipping and returns page. For other countries, see the full delivery table. The whole range is in all FAAN perfumes.
