What makes a good evening scent

Warmth, a little sweetness and some depth. Evening air is cooler, rooms are warmer, and people stand closer. So you want a scent with good base notes and a gentle projection. If it is too loud, it becomes the third person at the table.

Qasida Queen

FAAN Qasida Queen is written for her. It opens with cherry, clove, orange blossom and pink pepper. Orange blossom, jasmine and cashmeran in the heart. Vanilla, amber, patchouli and coffee at the base. It smells like dark fruit, a warm drink and soft skin. Projection and longevity are both 4 out of 5.

Amjad Mystery

FAAN Amjad Mystery is unisex. Pear, hazelnut and frankincense at the top. Rose, saffron, sambac jasmine and osmanthus in the heart. Sandalwood, vanilla, ambergris and akigalawood below. The hazelnut and smoky rose are the hook. It is warm, sweet and a little strange, which is exactly why it works on a date.

How to wear it

Spray after you shower, on warm skin: neck, chest, and inside the wrists.
One spray on the clothes, at the collar.
Do not apply right before you leave the door. Give it fifteen minutes so the top notes settle.
Do not stack another scented product on top. Use unscented deodorant and lotion.

Mind the room

If you are going to a small restaurant, use two sprays, not four. A good rule: you should smell it when you lean toward your own shoulder, and others should smell it only when they get close.

Match the scent to the setting

Candlelit restaurant: Bakhour or Mystery. Both are warm and low-key.
Wine bar or cocktails: Queen. The cherry and coffee play well with a drink.
Long walk and dinner: Signature. The sweet warmth is nice outdoors in cold weather.
Dinner at home: Kingdom, with one spray. In a small space, a strong scent builds fast.

Mistakes to avoid

Do not try a new bottle for the first time on the night. Wear it a day before so you know how it settles on you. Do not spray your whole body. Pick two spots. And do not chase the scent with a second perfume. Layering two strong scents usually ends in noise.

First date or anniversary?

On a first date, keep it light and warm. Signature is the safe call: sweet enough to be inviting, spiced enough to be interesting. Two sprays, no more. You are still learning each other, and a very strong scent can feel like a lot.

On an anniversary, go deeper. Mystery, Kingdom and Bakhour all have layers that reward someone standing close. Choose the one you have worn before and love, and let it do the work. A familiar scent on a special night is often the best choice.

Clothes and scent

Fabric holds scent better than skin. Wool and cotton keep it for days, while silk can stain, so test a hidden spot first. Spray the inside of a jacket or the collar of a shirt, not the front. If you are meeting someone for the first time, keep it lighter than you think you need. You can always add a spray later, but you cannot take one back.
