Is FAAN Amjad Honour worth it? Price per ml, per spray and per year

FAAN Amjad Honour Extrait de Parfum 200 ml bottle

Quick answer: Is FAAN Amjad Honour worth it at 44.99 euros? For anyone who likes resin, incense and amber, yes. That is about 22 cents per ml for a 200 ml Extrait with a longevity rating of 5 out of 5, and two sprays a day make the bottle last two years or more. Skip it if you want something fresh or light.

FAAN Amjad Honour is one of our best sellers in the Amjad line. Here is the money side, with the sums shown so you can redo them with your own habits.

The price and what 200 ml means

Amjad Honour costs 44.99 euros for a 200 ml bottle of Extrait de Parfum. Most perfume on a shop shelf comes in 50 or 100 ml, so this is two to four times the liquid. That is the first thing to understand before you judge the price: you are not buying one bottle for a season, you are buying a stock.

It also sits in the lowest price tier of the range. Coral, Bidaya and Status cost the same 44.99, and every other bottle costs more.

Price per ml and per spray

The sum is simple: 44.99 divided by 200 is about 0.225, so 22.5 cents per ml. A spray is harder to pin down because every pump is different. A typical spray is around 0.1 ml, and our own storage guide puts a 200 ml bottle at roughly 1,500 to 2,000 sprays. That gives 2 to 3 cents per spray.

Here is what that means over time. These are estimates from the spray count, not measurements.

Habit Sprays per year Bottle lasts Cost per year
2 sprays a day 730 about 2 to 2.7 years about 16 to 22 euros
3 sprays a day 1,095 about 1.4 to 1.8 years about 25 to 33 euros

Shipping is on top. In the Netherlands it is 6.35 euros, or free from 75 euros, so two bottles ship free. To Germany standard GLS is 7.79 euros. The rest is in the full delivery table.

What an Extrait gives you

Extrait de Parfum holds more fragrance oil than an Eau de Parfum, so you need fewer sprays. Honour is a good example. Our product page rates it 4 out of 5 for projection and 5 out of 5 for longevity, and two sprays are enough. Three is a lot.

The base explains the staying power. Vanilla, amber, oud, ambergris and benzoin are heavy materials that cling to skin and cloth. The top is frankincense, elemi, cardamom, lemon and Sichuan pepper. The heart is patchouli, rose, saffron, orange blossom and geranium. If you want the note-by-note picture, read the Amjad Honour review.

One honest point: strength is only value if you like what you are smelling. Honour is not a quiet perfume, and a cheap bottle you do not wear is the most expensive one.

Is FAAN Amjad Honour worth it for you?

It is worth it if:

  • You like resin, incense and amber, and you would wear it in autumn and winter, on evenings and special occasions, which is how it is listed.
  • You wear perfume most days and want one bottle to rotate for a long time.
  • You want long staying power without paying for a 54.99 bottle.

Skip it if:

  • You want something fresh for the office or the heat. Look at Coral below.
  • You wear perfume a few times a month. Stored well, perfume stays good for around three to five years, and at one spray a week a 200 ml bottle will outlive that. In that case decant part of it into a small atomiser.
  • You dislike smoky or spicy scents. The frankincense and oud are not subtle.

Cheaper and dearer alternatives in the range

Nothing in the range costs less than 44.99, so there is no cheaper Honour. What you can do is pick a different mood. Coral and Bidaya cost the same, Mystery costs 10 euros more:

  • Amjad Coral: pear, bergamot and clean woods, listed for spring and summer, longevity 3 out of 5.
  • Amjad Mystery: pear, hazelnut, rose and saffron, longevity 4 out of 5.
  • Qasida Bidaya: saffron, resin and vanilla, an Extrait with longevity 4 out of 5.

Going up in price: Amjad Kingdom is the only other bottle rated 5 out of 5 for longevity, and it costs 54.99, so 10 euros more. The Qasida Eau de Parfum bottles cost between 51.99 and 56.99. You can compare them all on the full range page, or start from the Amjad collection guide.
